About: Meet the Team

SWiB Operations Manager

Clare Robinson took over the running of SWiB in January 2017. She has spent most of her working life in publishing, having run Pen & Ink Publishing – a local independent company specialising in local history, personal and corporate biographies – since 1985.  She is also a freelance features writer who has worked as music critic for the Plymouth Herald for over 20 years.

Media Archivist (PCC)

SWiB is supported by Stacey Anderson, a qualified Archivist who was originally appointed by the PBT in 2007 to set up and develop the SWIB archive. Stacey now works as the Media Archivist for Plymouth City Council.

Stacey has worked in a number of heritage organisations in the region: Plymouth & West Devon Record Office (2003-2005); Cornwall Record Office with a part time secondment at the Courtney Library RCM (2005-2007); for SWIB (2007-2012); and as the Executive Archive Director for the South West Film & TV Archive (2012-2017). She is a Registered Member of the Archives and Records Association (ARA), a member of the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) and is an active committee member of the Film, Sound and Photography Section of the ARA.

SWiB Volunteers

Since being established in 2007, SWiB has welcomed around 70 individual volunteers, ranging from the recently retired, local history enthusiasts, students and individuals with learning difficulties who are given unique opportunities to develop work based skills.

Our volunteers undertake a variety of different tasks at SWiB, assisting with preservation and repackaging of collections; cataloguing and scanning; research; search room and gallery supervision and exhibition and presentation delivery.
